Looking to try the Haleiwa food trucks while visiting Oahu's North Shore? Here, we unveil 8 of the best ones you must try in Haleiwa Town! Know where to find the best garlic shrimp plates, locals' favorite poke bowls, acai bowls, and other delicious foods.

Quick note: We keep this post updated since food trucks can move, close, or even switch to permanent locations. Plus, new ones might pop up in town that you’ll want to try!

Aside from the amazing restaurants in Haleiwa, the town is home to many of the best food trucks on Oahu's North Shore.

Haleiwa's food truck scene has really taken off and is now one of the town’s biggest draws! What used to be just a handful of trucks is now a lively mix serving everything from classic Hawaiian plates to international flavors.

With so many options, it can be tough to choose. We're here to help! Check out our favorite must-try food trucks in Haleiwa Town that you won’t want to miss during your visit.

Best Haleiwa Food Trucks

1. Haleiwa Shrimp Trucks

Giovanni's Shrimp Truck gets all the hype, and their garlic shrimp plates are legendary and taste amazing, but we think Big Wave Shrimp Truck steals the show!

Big Wave's shrimp is next-level delicious! Picture plump, juicy shrimp prepared in a garlicky butter sauce loaded with huge chunks of garlic. Each bite is tender, moist, and a local favorite for good reason.

They don't disappoint in variety either - we often come here to order their Lemon Peppered Shrimp. It has a lovely balance of lemony flavor and a mild peppery kick, perfect for a hot Hawaiian day.

But don't miss their Coconut Shrimp - fried to order, this crispy, not-greasy shrimp plate has a beautiful coconut flavor that even caught the eye (and taste buds) of Guy Fieri on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives! Watch what he had to say!

Their portions are generous (at least 10 shrimp per plate!), and you can choose peeled or unpeeled shrimp to suit your preference. Every plate comes with a side of salad and rice, plus a slice of refreshing Hawaiian pineapple.

The service and staff are also amazing. They have a sink to wash your hands, outdoor tables with umbrellas for shade, and free parking stalls. Open 10 AM to 6:30 PM.

2. Haleiwa Seafood Truck

Haleiwa Seafood Truck stands out in the heart of Haleiwa Town, serving an amazing variety of fresh seafood plates with a distinct Hawaiian influence.

They use only the freshest catches, resulting in deliciously flakey and flavorful fish. Our personal favorite is the Coconut Mahi Plate: a coconut-crusted mahi-mahi served with locally grown mixed greens and fries drizzled with their amazing tartar sauce.

Their Loco Moco is a great option if you want to try classic Hawaiian comfort food for breakfast. Plus, their Grilled Ahi burgers are served on unique taro bread for a delicious Hawaiian twist.

For a refreshing touch, don't miss their Hawaiian Sun smoothie - a tropical blend of passion fruit, mango, and pineapple. It's seriously yummy!

Beyond the delicious food, Haleiwa Seafood provides the perfect lunch spot. Their outdoor seating features comfy picnic tables and umbrellas. Plus, parking is free, and they're open from 11 AM until they run out of food or 8 PM, whichever comes first.

3. Khan & Phim Thai Food Truck

Our favorite Thai food truck in Haleiwa Town is Khan & Phim Thai. Their food hits all the flavor notes – balanced sweet, sour, and spicy. So delicious, we are now regulars here!

We highly recommend them for lunch or dinner! Everything is amazing, but the Yellow Thai Curry, Panang Curry, and Pad Kee Mao are next level (spicy and creamy!).

They have all the classics too - Pad Thai, spring rolls, yummy papaya salad, and Thai tea. It's like getting a taste of Thailand right here in Haleiwa!

The Mango Sticky Rice is very authentic, and they offer very generous servings compared to other Thai restaurants in the area.

There are picnic tables under a huge shaded mango tree, and we enjoy having early diners here while watching the movement in town. It reminds us of our time in Thailand's countryside!

Heads up! Be careful ordering spicy! We usually get mild, and it's still spicy. Also, you can find free parking stalls nearby.

4. No7 Japanese Food Truck (now a restaurant called No7 Poke n’ Roll)

Update: The No7 Japanese Food Truck has grown so popular that it’s now a physical restaurant called No7 Poke n’ Roll in the Haleiwa Town Center! While they’re no longer a food truck, we wanted to highlight their success, so we’ve kept them on the list.

In its place, Ohana Yummy BBQ has taken over the same food truck location and now serves one of the locals' favorite poke bowls, along with a delicious mix of Korean and Japanese food.

If you love poke, look no further than the No.7 Japanese Food Truck in Haleiwa. Their poke is next-level and some of the best on the island.

Their spicy garlic tuna poke is a must-try! You can tell the tuna is fresh, and the sauce hits all the right notes – spicy, garlicky, and perfectly balanced. Plus, we love that their portions are generous!

The Chicken Karaage and Sukiyaki Beef are also delicious, their rolls are superb, and they make perfect Japanese-style rice!

Another favorite is the spicy Miso Tonkatsu. The katsu is fried to perfection, and the spicy miso sauce is so delicious!

The outdoor dining area is relaxing - picnic tables, string lights, and a gentle breeze create the perfect atmosphere to enjoy your meal. Plus, the prices are great for the quality you get - it might just be the best poke and sushi you'll ever have!

Whether you're a local or just visiting Hawaii, No.7 Japanese Food Truck is an absolute must-try for lunch or dinner!

5. Wicked HI Pizza

The food truck Wicked Hi Pizza in Haleiwa makes some of the best pizzas on the island, and we highly recommend you eat there.

Their homemade sourdough crust is a game-changer! Thin, crispy, and bursting with authentic Italian flavor, and we love that it comes out piping hot straight from the oven.

Must-try alert: The Honey Goat Pizza. We know it sounds strange, but it's amazing. It's a surprising combination of goat cheese, mozzarella, basil, garlic, tomato, and local honey that will have you wanting more. It's one of their most popular flavors!

They also serve delicious slushies made with real fruit and other fresh ingredients. We recommend trying the dragonfruit and piña colada flavors - so refreshing! ☀️

Great service, great pizza, and relaxing outdoor seating on picnic tables; parking can be tricky during peak hours, but there are free stalls around town. It's a tad pricey, but you won't be disappointed!

6. Crispy Grindz Haleiwa

Head to Crispy Grindz food truck in Haleiwa Town for authentic Brazilian comfort food! As a Brazilian myself, I vouch for their authenticity.

They serve all your favorites: crispy pastels (wonton wraps) filled with sweet or savory ingredients, amazing coxinha (chicken croquettes), cheesy pão de queijo (cheese bread), açaí bowls, brigadeiro, and more!

Their pastels are huge, crispy, soft, and packed with filling the way they should be. We love the cheese or the beef, but honestly, they're all so good it's hard to order just one flavor!

The coxinha is stuffed with cheese and super-moist, flavorful shredded chicken. And to top it off, they use panko to make it extra crispy on the outside. They're addictive!

Crispy Grindz also makes the best açaí bowls on the island! Made with pure açai (no cheap fillers here!), you can customize yours with granola, berries, coconut, and even peanut butter.

Enjoy lunch under the shade at their outdoor seating with free parking nearby. Sure, prices might be a tad high (like most things in Hawaii), but the quality and taste are absolutely worth it.  P.S. Save room for the brigadeiro (dessert) - it's heavenly!

7. Surf N Salsa

Surf N Salsa food truck in Haleiwa is our go-to dining spot for the best Mexican food on the North Shore. Why? Authentic recipes prepared by Mexican cooks.

Their tacos are absolutely delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous (especially the massive burritos). The salsa is a standout, with just the right amount of spice to make every bite a fiesta for your mouth 😊!

You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but my personal favorite is the fajita burrito - soft tortillas filled with sautéed chicken, veggies, Mexican beans, rice, melty cheese, and creamy guacamole. It's a flavor explosion!

The atmosphere is also really nice, with a casual beach town vibe. Parking is free, and the outdoor seating with picnic tables offers great views behind the truck. Keep an eye out for live music and Taco Tuesday specials!

Quick tip: Since they're often busy, ordering ahead online is recommended to avoid long waits.

8. North Shore Crepes Cafe

North Shore Crepes Cafe is a must-try food truck in Haleiwa, offering authentic French crepes run by a French owner - so you know it's the real deal!

Sweet or savory, they got you covered! Try the "Garlic Shrimp" crepe with shrimp, mozzarella, egg, avocado, tomato, spinach, and pesto, and the "Waikiki" crepe filled with Nutella, banana, strawberry, and vanilla ice cream - both are amazing!

Let me also recommend the "The Chef" crepe with savory chicken, mozzarella, scrambled egg, avocado, tomato, spinach, and pesto. It's truly delicious!

The crepes are crispy, warm, very flavorful, and made to order. Plus, they offer gluten-free options, and the portion sizes are generous.

Their prices are very reasonable, and the staff is very friendly! Parking is not free ($2.00), but you can find free parking in town and walk over.
