Favorite travel companies
Not sure which companies to book with? After years of travel, I've tried hundreds - some great, some not. Here are the ones I keep coming back to for the best deals and reliable experiences. Use them to book your trips too!
- ✈️ Airfare: Skyscanner is my favorite for booking flights. It helps compare fares across airlines and smaller booking sites, and I often find the cheapest flights there.
- 🏠 Accommodations: Booking.com is where I usually look when I need a place to stay. You can see hotels, condos, or vacation rentals for pretty much any budget, check out real guest reviews, and a lot of them let you cancel for free if your plans change.
- 🚗 Transportation: When I book a rental, I use Discover Cars. It compares a wide range of companies, consistently gives me the best prices I've found, and lets you cancel for free up to 48 hours before pickup.
- 🌴 Tour Companies: Viator is great for booking tours and activities. They've got tons of options on the North Shore, Oahu, and the other islands - everything from snorkeling and luaus to circle-island tours. It's an easy way to see what's available and book the tours you want.
- 🛡️ Travel Insurance: World Nomads is very affordable and worth having in case plans change, bags go missing, or you need medical help while you're away.
- 📱 SIM Cards: I usually go with Saily or SimOptions when I travel. Both are made for travelers who want affordable, flexible mobile data. They're easy to set up, let you avoid roaming fees while keeping your regular SIM active, and give you high-speed 4G/5G data in many places, perfect for staying connected on the go.
